Bridal FAQs

You said “Yes!”, and here you are! This time in your life is quite exciting and I hope you are having a wonderful time planning your wedding.  If not, I hope you have a lot of wine!  My goal is to make this part as smooth and as hassle-free as possible. Bridal Hair & Makeup is one of the most important aspects of your wedding day ensemble, and I would be honored to work with you in creating that perfect look.

With over 8 years of helping brides like you feel your absolute best on your wedding day.  I hope you find my Bridal Frequently asked question guide helpful.  If you need anything, please feel free to reach out.

I have a team of highly trained and certified stylists so we are able to accommodate larger parties and also create a more enjoyable experience for you and your favorite gals! Each artist has their own unique skill set and style secrets. We pride ourselves on having the ability to whip up diverse, unique styles that are customizable to each client that sits in our chair.

My team and I use a wide range of products from many different brands. I do not solely use one makeup brand company as I believe each company has a distinct product that they pride themselves on or that I find to favor in most companies. Only high-quality and high-performing products are in my kit to ensure your makeup is flawless on camera. All products are tested for performance prior to making it into my collection. Please contact me with any questions regarding allergies at your party.

Yes, we require a 25% non-refundable retainer of the overall total cost for the big day, and a signed contract to hold your wedding date. This is due in order to save your date and any extra stylists that may be needed, so they are able to clock their day off from all other inquiries.

Due to high demand we are unable to reserve your date past your trial without a deposit. I often have 3-5 inquiries per wedding date during prime wedding season and highly recommend deciding that day to ensure you are able to book with me.

With a signed contract, our trials are done 1 month -1.5 months before your wedding day.  We do a lot of weddings and bridal trials before your big day and want to ensure we have your trial fresh in our minds, compared to 4 months before your big day.  This way we are also able to keep brides in order chronologically to their wedding day!
We deal with out-of-state brides as well and understand that there are only a handful of times to travel in for a trial.  We are flexible with scheduling with our out-of-state brides.

As far as you need us to! My travel fee is based on location and distance. We charge $60/hour over the 1st hour traveled from stylist’s location of the salon; this is also a per stylist travel charge. If a stylist and/or her team have to travel over 2 hours away, lodging will be involved, and discussed with Ashley the owner on how this process is done. We wake up and drive early morning hours for most wedding days, but we will not have our stylists be driving at dangerous hours and risking their safety.

We start booking up to a year in advance, so we say the sooner the better!  We can never promise any bride that when they decide to finally book after so long, their day will be available.

There is the possibility that another wedding is booked on your big day with another stylist on the team (one that is not already involved in your big day!). Ashley is the one who makes sure all brides’ days are going smoothly, but will never double-book a bride with the same stylist.

When it comes to your wedding day, we always strive to do 30-45 minutes per look for each service being done.  More natural/simpler makeup and hair looks will tend to be more 30-minute applications, and more glamour/dramatic, and more intricate hair stylists will fall towards the 45-minute applications.
For our Bride’s services we always try for the following time frames:

  • Both hair and makeup – 2-2.5 hours
  • Hair only / makeup only – 1-1.5 hours

Absolutely. A true professional makeup application will last the full duration of your event. Not only are the eyes and skin prepared with the proper skin care and priming products, but you will be set and finished with professional powders and sprays that seal in and help fix the makeup in place. All the products in between the prepping and sealing are chosen for their longevity and high performance in all tear/sweat and weather conditions.
Let’s be honest, everyone cries at weddings (thankfully for joy!). After makeup is applied and set by the makeup artist, we always suggest that if you cry, always BLOT the tears away, NEVER wipe the tears away.

Once a contract is signed by both the bride and the stylist, and the 25% retainer is received, there is no subtraction of any services.  We ask that if someone is only a “Maybe,” when it comes to getting a service, to leave them off the contract for now.  We are usually able to add services onto a contract if the stylist feels she will be able to get the addition done in the time she is allotted on her contract.  However, since we are always booking out our stylists to help other brides, we cannot guarantee that we will have an extra stylist available if you decide to add on services too late.

Brides who book us understand that should the bride cancel the booked event or any service on the agreement for any reason, including COVID-19 reasons, the payments cannot be refunded or transferred.

Once the initial contract is finalized, the client is responsible for all services indicated at the time of the original booking. If the client so chooses to add services 30 days prior to their event, corrections may be made to the contract with the agreement of both the Stylist and the client. If a service is no longer needed after both parties sign the agreed-upon contract, the bride is still liable to pay for that service (also including the fee of the assistant). No refund will be offered.

Should the stylist have a personal emergency that prevents her from performing services as agreed, all efforts will be made so that a replacement stylist will be present to perform the contracted services. Should an emergency occur last minute that no stylist can be made available, all fees will be refunded minus the cost for the initial trial will be refunded.
